Today's trading session closed with down arrows across the board but stocks managed to lift off the lows. Markets hit those lows soon after Fed Chair Jerome Powell said "significantly larger" tariffs can lead to stickier inflation. Nvidia (NVDA) and AMD Inc. (AMD) closed as two of the biggest laggards in the SPX as the A.I. companies disclosed having to pay extensive licensing fees to sell chips to China. Additionally, ASML Holding (ASML) slid when its tech earnings disappointed. Caroline Woods turns to the session's biggest stories.
