Jessica Lautz notes that homebuilders are offering more incentives to buyers, bringing down the price of new builds. While February sales were up, she notes that this is a seasonal effect. Michael Singleton says his research shows “7% mortgages just don’t work for consumers,” and expects the sector to continue to struggle unless rates come down. However, Jessica says consumers are accepting the higher rates and many “can’t wait” to move.
