“The big question is AI’s effects on advertising” and Google’s Search business, Scott Kessler says. He thinks it could be a potential headwind for Alphabet (GOOGL), along with its general spending on AI. “I think it’s pretty clear that…the days of Google having 90% market share have passed.” He notes that a lot of the popular chatbots are not built to include advertising, though he thinks that could change in the future. He also emphasizes the difference between number of users and monetization for the company.
